Perfect Ruin (Internment Chronicles, #1)Perfect Ruin by Lauren DeStefano

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I love Lauren DeStefano, she has to be one of my favorite authors. That being said, it was tough to give this book less than 5 stars.

Morgan lives on internment, a floating city above the earth. Her world is seemingly perfect until a murder of a peer causes her to question everything she knows.

I have to say that Destefano has a unique writing style that I simply cannot get enough of. The characters in this book were such a relief from the superficial ones in books I have read as of late. The world building is intricate and breathtaking.

I gave Perfect Ruin less than 5 stars though because of how slow it was. I felt as though this book could have picked up in pace, and could have had a more exciting climax. Despite these flaws I still liked this book and thought it a worthy read.

I am eagerly anticipating what Destefano has in store for us in her next book.
